Marisa Miller (2)_edited.jpg

Counseling Psychologist (MA)

Marisa works integratively, drawing on CBT, ACT, DBT, narrative therapy, emotionally focused therapy, and psychodynamic approaches to meet each person where they are — with the tools and perspective that fit them best.

Marisa specializes in working with adults experiencing anxiety, burnout, low self-esteem, depression, grief, and major life transitions such as motherhood and expat life. Having lived in the USA, Australia, the UK, and the Netherlands, she brings a warm, culturally sensitive perspective to her work — and a genuine understanding of what it means to build a life far from where you started.

Before focusing on clinical practice, Marisa spent 15 years in qualitative research spanning psychology, anthropology, and consumer innovation. This background deepens her curiosity about people's stories and the contexts they live in — she is drawn to the patterns in feelings and behaviours, and what unlocking those patterns makes possible. Her research has covered emergent needs in motherhood, social media, ageing, autism, and cultural localization strategies.

It is this rare combination of  being a researcher and clinician that shapes how Marisa works — with warmth, humour, curiosity and a genuine care for the complexity of human experience.
